Not exactly dmg resistance but if you feel the need for some hard counters to the CC blast (independent from how powerful it gets) Continuity from temporal spec, the Invincible starship trait and the Console – Universal – Tholian Web Generator work nicely (the latter only on the event version of CC). 🙂
Using damage debuffs on the entity just before the release takes place helps alot. Subnucleonic beam and subnucleonic carrier wave help. Also using Aceton beam or the Dampening Wave from the flagship sets (yorktown, gorkon…). Also triggering damage immunities helps. Or if you’re a really slick pilot, pull out at about 10.5 km and dip back in after the release.
Or if you’re a warbird master – a well placed combo of Singularity Jump and Subspace vortex return will draw out applauses.

the wave from the entity seems to be very weak at 9+ km, its actually possible to sit at 9.9 km and doesnt get hit by the wave at all.
